Objectives

• To be aware of the social problems that immigrants implies.
  
• Contribute and exchange ideas with the other partners of the course.

• The activity will take place during the 4th week of the course.

Development

We suggest a discussion about the problems related with immigration that you most worry about. They could be similar to these:

• Do you think that all immigrants should enjoy the same rights in their host countries, or should this depend on their own attitude towards integration?
• Do you think there are differentiated measures for asylum seekers , legal immigrants and illegal immigrants? Why?
• Should immigrant background be controlled differently from resident citizens?
• Is immigration a danger to host countries, or a development opportunity for them?
• What do you think is the predominant factor in the motivation to emigrate? Do you think that you could, or should, act directly on him?

Example

Many times said that immigrants put in danger the resident’s welfare system. However, those who assume the enormous economic, social, cultural and emotional immigration costs are willing to work hard to achieve better living conditions and freedom than in their home countries. A regulation that would allow this development would benefit everyone.
