This is about sharing solidarity. I’m tired of poems. I find the rhetoric of concern attractive at first. In six months, the public opinion will move again in a different direction."

[Text ] The EU budget mobilised € 15 billion euros to address the refugee crisis in 2015 and 2016.

The EU is the world’s leading donor of aid.

Europe is showing solidarity. Inside the EU, 6,000 people have relocated. And with its neighbors.

€6.6 billion in EU aid is supporting refugees in Turkey, Jordan and Lebanon.

Europe is protecting its borders and saving lives. Only between 2015 and 2016, over 400,000 lives saved.

Europe’s cooperation with Turkey has replaced irregular immigration, bringing daily arrivals down from 10,000 to just 100 people and resettling to 13,000 people.

Europe is working to turn immigration from a challenge into an opportunity.

[Jean-Claude Junker] "We have started to see solidarity. I am convinced much more solidarity is needed. But I also know that solidarity must be voluntary. It must come from the heart."
