European growth and cohesion

Objectives

• Awareness of the importance of the action developed by the EU to boost the growth and cohesion of the member States.
  
• Know the different instruments for the develop and cohesion policies.
• Appreciate the contributions made by the EU and discuss with the users of the course if the adoption of these policies in the European field is the best or not than if they are taken independently by the member states.

Development

We are interested in your opinion about European development and cohesion policy and its evolution.

You can comment, or try to respond some key questions, such as the following:

• What advantages or disadvantages do you find in the regulation of the SIF Funfds?
• Do you think that European Union allocate an enough budget for development and cohesion?
• Do you think that funds are used correctly? And the way that they use it are adequate?
• How do you values the thematic objectives set for the SIF Funds?
• How do you value the change in the next Financial Framework of the cohesion for Competitiveness? Is it justified?

Example

Although European aid in some sectors (as they can be infrastructures) is recognized, but not always we know their scope. For example. It is rarely known that they use to look for state collaboration to achieve a multiplier effect. Either the diversity of existing instruments is often know, some independent and other complementary. In addition, on occasion, administrative complexity may be a problem to achieve maximum effectiveness. That is why its simplification is one of the pending challenges.
