Welcome to the Virtual Learning Environment of the MOOC The European Union as agent of change.
This course is aimed to everyone interested at the thematic, without the necessity of having any kind of previous basic notion, but having some skills at the use of the online platform where the course is carrying out.
Its objective is to promote the debate about the role that Europe should play in the construction of the future, both in its own field and in relation to the outside, in our current Global World.
We understand that this role is crucial, since the welfare and security of many millions of citizens depends largely on the consolidation and development of the European Union.
There are many critical voices that at this moment stand up to the EU and many the challenges that must manage. We have selected a sample of these and of the proposed solution routes, to form the six lessons that form the course.
To value the diversity of Europe and how to have different points of view is something that can be used to build and not necessarily to separate, each of these lessons has been formulated by one of the CITIZEU project partners, funded by Europe for Citizens Programme, who belong to countries with very different realities.
In order to increase the knowledge and the awareness of course participants about the EU, we will present issues such as globalization, Euroscepticism, immigration or discrimination. But also solutions, such as the greater and better guarantee of social rights, or economic measures to promote cohesion. And we will end with a look at the future of Europe, which begins in the elections of May 2019, reviewing the arguments for which it is worthwhile, not only to go to vote, but to work for that vote to be massive.
On the other hand, in order to achieve both its consolidation and its maximum diffusion we intend to discuss all these issues in the Forum of the course and in the platform Gijón participa, promoted by the CITIZEU project leader city.
The idea is that in a relaxed atmosphere, suitable for all audiences, Europe and the European Union will be approached to our participants, providing them with basic knowledge that it will give them a critical and proactive awareness to create an opinion that positions them in front of the EU, either for or against. Although we do not doubt that as the knowledge about the EU advances, its defense will become firmer.
Bienvenido al espacio de aprendizaje virtual del MOOC La Unión Europea como agente de cambio.
Este curso está dirigido a todas aquellas personas interesadas en su temática, sin necesidad de nociones básicas de ningún tipo, exceptuando las habilidades necesarias para seguir el curso en un entorno totalmente digital.
Su objetivo es fomentar el debate acerca del papel que debe jugar Europa en la construcción del futuro, tanto en su propio ámbito como frente al exterior, en nuestro actual mundo globalizado.
Entendemos que ese papel es crucial, pues de la consolidación y desarrollo de la Unión Europea depende en buena medida el bienestar y seguridad de muchos millones de ciudadanos y ciudadanas.
Son muchas las voces críticas que en este momento se alzan ante ella y muchos los retos que debe afrontar. Hemos seleccionado una muestra tanto de estos como de las vías de solución propuestas, para formar las seis lecciones que integran el curso.
Para poner en valor la diversidad de Europa y cómo el tener puntos de vista distintos es algo que se puede usar para construir y no necesariamente para separar, cada una de estas lecciones ha sido formulada por uno de los socios del proyecto CITIZEU, financiado por el programa Europa con los Ciudadanos, que pertenecen a países con realidades muy diferentes.
Con el fin de aumentar el conocimiento y consciencia sobre la UE de los participantes del curso, trataremos problemas como la globalización, el euroescepticismo, la inmigración o la discriminación. Pero también de soluciones, como la mayor y mejor garantía de los derechos sociales o las medidas económicas para promover la cohesión. Y finalizaremos con una mirada al futuro de Europa, que se inicia en las elecciones de mayo de 2019, repasando los argumentos por los que merece la pena, no solo ir a votar, sino trabajar para que ese voto sea masivo.
Por otra parte, para conseguir tanto su consolidación como su difusión máxima pretendemos que se debata sobre todas estas cuestiones en el Foro del curso y en la plataforma Gijón participa, impulsada por la ciudad líder del proyecto CITIZEU.
La idea es que en un tono distendido, apto para todos los públicos, se acerque Europa y la Unión Europea a nuestros participantes, proveyéndolos de conocimientos básicos que les aporten una conciencia crítica y proactiva para formar una opinión que les posicione frente a la UE, ya sea a favor o en contra. Aunque no dudamos que a medida que el conocimiento sobre la UE avance, se irá haciendo más firme su defensa.
