1. Objectives

Once you have read the documentation and participated in the activities that we propose in lesson 2, The European Pillar of Social Rights, you will be able to:

• Know the real concern of the EU for the personal well-doing of the citizens.
• Perceive the scope of all the principles included in the European Pillar of Social Rights.
• Understand the difficulties of developing all these principle and the importance of the involvement of each and every one of the member states in this work.
• Identify the real effect, for citizens, of the measures adopted by the EU within the framework of the functions previously assigned by the States members.

2. Contents

In this topic we wanted to highlight how the EU, at the moment, transcends economic concerns and is interested in the real conditions of their citizens adopt within their competences. Improve their well-being and recommend to the States that they develop their own with the same common goal. 

The basic content that you will find in the lesson is the following:

• Relevance of the European Pillar of Social Rights.
• Measures to promote the implementation of the principles collected in the European Pillar of Social Rights.
• Principles enshrined in the European Pillar of Social Rights.

4. Objetivos

Una vez hayas leído la documentación y participado en las actividades que te proponemos en la Lección 2. El Pilar Europeo de Derechos Sociales, serás capaz de:

• Conocer la preocupación real de la UE por el bienestar personal de los ciudadanos.
• Percibir el alcance de todos los principios recogidos en el Pilar Europeo de Derechos Sociales.
• Comprender las dificultades del desarrollo de todos estos principios y la importancia de la implicación de todos y cada uno de los estados miembros en esta labor.
• Distinguir el efecto real, para los ciudadanos, de las medidas que adopta la UE en el marco de las funciones que previamente han cedido los Estados miembros. 

5. Contenidos

En esta lección hemos querido destacar cómo la UE en el momento actual transciende las preocupaciones económicas y se interesa por las condiciones reales de sus ciudadanos, adoptando dentro de sus competencias las medidas posibles para mejorar su bienestar y recomendando a los Estados miembros que desarrollen las suyas propias con el mismo objetivo común.

• Medidas para el fomento de la puesta en práctica de los principios que recoge el Pilar Europeo de Derechos Sociales.
