European citizens do not usually know how the European Union works or how decisions are made because their mechanisms are very different from those applied in the national models.

However, European agreements will often be decisive for decisions adopted by the Member States, or even directly applicable to their citizens.

For this reason, the reality of Europe cannot be known without knowing how the European Union norms are denominated and how they are approved.

We will reflect on these aspects after reading Lesson 4. Decision making in the European sphere (PDF).
